Manny Mania 2011 dates announced

GrindTV Newswire via Red Bull-April 06, 2011 - (SantaMonica, CA) - This summer a group of 12 amateur skateboarders from around the Unites States will roll their way at a chance of a lifetime as they compete to be the Red Bull Manny Mania national champion. With 12 qualifier staking place from Sin City to Music City, Beantown to Brooklyn, hundreds of skaters will have their chance to roll their way from hometown hero to the national spotlight

The winner from each qualifierwill earn a trip to Los Angeles to compete in the Red Bull Manny ManiaNational Final on July 9^th. Only one will move on in the Red Bull Manny Mania World Final in August, carrying the hopes of the U.S.on the back of their board.

Born from the mind of skate pro Joey Brezinski, Red Bull Manny Mania has grown into one of the biggest global contests, while maintaining a relaxed vibe as it seeks to award the highest level of technical trickery on two wheels. Based on the simple balancing trick of the manual, Red Bull Manny Mania awards skill and creativity as skaters try to link their best combinations together. Think of it like an ice cream Sundae; you can start with plain vanilla, but throw something nutty on top and add in something else buttery smooth and you have yourself a top notch treat.

The series will culminatein two marquee events, the Red Bull Manny Mania World Final and the RedBull Manny Mania Pro, taking place August 20-21 in New York City. Thisyear 32 countries will be vying for the amateur championship from Kazakhstanto Brazil to South Africa to Singapore. Entering into its 5^thyear, the invite-only pro event has brought some of the best skaters to New York City, including past winners Brezinski, Ronnie Creager and Eli Reed as well as other top skaters such as Brandon Biebel, Mike Mo Capaldi and Eric Koston among many others.

FLIPPING OUT

For the amateur skater who earns their way to New York, the City won't be the only thing having them losing sleep. The winner of the World Final gets a pass into the invite-only pro contest where they will go wheel to wheel with their skate idols. With a chance for one amateur to compete against skateboarding's top professionals,this August will quite possibly see a manual pad turn into a launching pad for one tenacious two-wheeler.
