Timmy Jernigan Boosts FSU Class; Brent Calloway Finally Signs With Alabama

Two four-star studs made their college choices official at 11 a.m. ET Wednesday, as DT Timmy Jernigan (6-2, 275, Lake City, Fla., Columbia HS) chose Florida State over LSU, Tennessee, Alabama and Florida.

"Florida State offered me when I was in eighth grade," Jernigan told ESPNU. "My relationship with (FSU defensive line coach) Odell Haggans over there has been strong, and even though I grew up a Gator fan, God works in mysterious ways. I followed my heart, and my heart is in Tallahassee."

Jernigan is coach Jimbo Fisher and Florida State's 26th commitment, further solidifying what is the ACC's No. 1 recruiting class and what many feel is the nation's best recruiting haul.

Continuing his ability to shock an entire state, coveted four-star athlete Brent Calloway has made his third college choice in less than a month -- and this time, it is binding.

The talented running back/linebacker from Russellville, Ala., signed his national letter-of-intent Wednesday to play at Alabama, ending a contentious struggle between the Crimson Tide and Auburn.

Calloway had committed to Alabama after his junior season and went through all of 2010 -- including his entire senior season and his invitation to the U.S. Army All-American Game -- as a lock for the Crimson Tide.

That is, until Jan. 8, when Calloway came out publicly and stunned the Alabama coaching staff by switching his commitment to Auburn.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound dual threat said at the time that Alabama's crop of linebackers were too deep for him to compete against, and that Auburn gave Calloway a better chance at running back at the next level. The switch also helped vault Auburn into the top tier of national recruiting classes for 2011.

Since the blockbuster flip, Calloway's stepfather criticized his switch to Auburn, and Calloway took his final official visit to Alabama on Jan. 28.
